November Meeting Report

By Bruce Dennis
President

We had 91 members present for the November meeting of Carpenters Local 247. We presented a donation check to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital collectively with Local 2154. We had a delegate election to fill a vacancy. Kevin Stokes was elected to fill the remainder of the term. Mike Anderson, runner-up, was appointed to fill the resulting vacancy as alternate delegate. We had delegate reports from the recent Regional Council quarterly meeting held earlier in the month. Under new business, we passed the hat for Jeremy Larson, who has been unable to work due to illness. We are writing letters to various political representatives regarding the INS action taken against member Julio Figueroa and also regarding the recent Peru Free Trade Agreement. We are sending our financial officers to an International Financial Training Seminar early next year. Also we are working on the annual toy drive and passed the hat for that as well. We gave out turkeys for door prizes, and adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m. As per usual, for more complete information ATTEND YOUR UNION MEETINGS. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
